About Soliton Telmec

Soliton Telmec Limited is a telecommunications technology company with their head office based in Nairobi, Kenya. The company was established in 2005, after evolving from Soliton Systems. We build and support both the basic and complex infrastructure required to enable electronic communications across the nation which include data centers, fiber optic lines; and the related routing and transmission equipment, including on-going support backed by a Service Level Agreement. With subsidiary offices in Uganda, Kampala and a branch in Mombasa, Kenya to support project implementation in the region, we provide services across the East Africa region.

Building Networks for Life

Soliton Telmec has delivered in planning, design, construction, maintenance and support of long haul projects, metro fiber connectivity and FTTx solutions. We have done over 6,000Km of long distance backbone projects in different counties in the country; Nyeri, Kajiado, Kiambu-Garissa-Mombasa and Nakuru counties. We have constructed metro networks in major counties and cities in Kenya such as Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu cities, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Garissa, Meru, Embu, Kiambu and Laikipia. Soliton has successfully implemented the first ever FTTH project in the region in Nairobi's Runda Estate covering over 100 residences.

In our journey of innovations, we have registered several 'firsts' within the region such as:

  • The first to apply non-intrusive micro-tunnelling method in fiber construction.
  • - First to implement full ITU fiber characterisation standard testing.
  • - First company to implement 8-hour Service Level Agreement in fiber maintenance (2006).
  • - First to implement a 6-hour SLA (2010).
  • - First to implement Automated Fiber Monitoring Solutions (2010).
  • - First to implement 4-hour SLA through the use of automated testing and monitoring solutions (2011).
  • - First to implement Enterprise Dark Fiber Solution for Fiber Channel SANs.
  • - First to introduce and implement standards-based 'open access' shared infrastructure.

At Soliton Telmec, we recognise the importance of building positive relationships within the community.
